my work is in great part the recollection of intangible heritage mainly in the form of audio. intersecting the worlds of identity, memory, belonging, food, sustainability, and agroecology.

on a first level audios create a repository for memory, a space to hold, archive, care for, and share stories, practices, and sounds of the oral history from humans and more-than-humans.

on a second, essential moment, the audios are presented as sound fragments, re-interpreted, re-shared and re-lived within their locus of origin and extended communities, they echo their sense of belonging and identity as well as the bewilderment that comes from deeper, focused listening —opening ears as windows for imagination.

i am a member of cocina colaboratorio since 2018, and co-founder or radio cocina colaboratorio, a transdisciplinary art and science project based in chiapas, oaxaca, and mexico city; and i am also part of the stratenmakers audio collectief since 2022.
